Dark Pools That Seperate Us

by Cynthia   Jun 27, 2006

As I sink in this sea of lonely,
I try to look for your light
This cynic darkness surrounds me
but I grasp on to you tight

I continue to sink
but with you by my side
Wisps of fire surround us,
as we both try to hide

Your light begins to fade,
bringing tears to my eyes
As much as I hate it,
I know I'll have to lie

Lie to get out of this
Because life is no game
Its but a dream for the dead
For dead have no shame

The shadows surround me
but I won't bring you down
I'll let you fly free,
so that you won't drown

I burn in these unearthly fires
Vines of lies wrap my body,
I fear that I shall soon Expire
And everything will turn foggy

I sink for all eternity,
surrounded by the darkness
There is no way out
I'm stuck in the tempest

But knowing you are free
cures all my wounds

Although you have hurt me
I rejoice in your light
because that alone
gave me my will to fight
