And Still One Remains

by Alexandra   Jun 28, 2006

The Perplexity that rested upon her brow was wiped away by none
For her family had left her she was the only one,
She’s haunted by that very night, the soldiers came around,
To wipe out her locality to drop her to the Ground
And as they went about their way, destroying and slaying lives
They disregarded the husbands, the children and the wives
But what hurt the most for the old matron to see was the age of those who killed
For they were only Children, their innocence lingered on the blood they spilled.
Her home was gone, her family lost and her life completely demolished
And all for the soldiers who received a medal Bright, Shiny and polished
She hoped that they would think of her and the innocence of those they slaughter
Whilst they sat in the comfort of their homes with their wife and with their Daughter.
The Old lady sits in her chair the only remaining memory from her past
And she knows her time has come to meet her family again at last.
