Lost For Love (War in Irag)

My Dearest Wife:
its been almost six months now
since i left to fight in the war
the things Ive seen are so cruel,
they've shocked me to the core

it was 3 months now
since my mate and fellow solider died
the bomb blasts were what killed him
were what caused his family to cry

it has been almost 1 month now
since my baby boy was born
between my family and my country
i am feeling torn

Dearest Husband:
it has been almost 6 months now
since you left to fight at war
i am missing you so badly
my heart is so very sore

it has been almost 3 months
since that fatal bomb blast
i just goes to show
you don't know how long life will last

its been almost 1 month now
since your son was born
i wish you were back home with him
my heart is feeling worn

its been about a week now
since i was told the news
you were shot in the line of duty
to who did it, they still have no clues

i guess your son will grow up
to having absolutely no clue
to what his daddy looked like
or what it was like with you

but i will be left with memories
of good times in the past
but i will always remember you
and our love will always last

my darling husband, my little boys dad
my guiding light through good or bad
i love you more more than you will ever know, but i wish you did before you had to go
