The Secret

The Secret

When I look into your saddened eyes,
I see the source that makes you cry.
It's for freedom that you long,
Wishing you knew where you belong.
You tell me all the things that you hold dear,
But still your heart is filled with fear.
Sometimes you smile to hide a frown,
So no one will know that your worlds upside down.
I know it's hard for you to trust,
These feelings inside are not just lust.
I'd give anything to show you my hearts desire,
When I'm near you my soul burns like fire.
All these years walking alone,
Has left my heart as cold as stone.
Long have I forgotten love's sweet smile,
But for you I'd go the extra mile.
Your voice is as soothing as the rain,
It makes me forget all my pain.
You need to know you have my very soul,
For you I'd pay the ultimate toll.
I'd walk head long into death's embrace,
For just one last look at your sweet face.
