Hope and Destitution

by Somber Esprit   Jun 29, 2006

I have nothing.
Like the wind in the trees,
Nothing but myself and my power.
Power to sooth, as the wind soothes a burned face on a hot day,
Power to maim and kill, as hurricanes and tornadoes maim and kill,
The wind and I have the uplifting song of the lark in common,
Also, we have nothing.
