Me...

by Genevieve   Jun 29, 2006

Her world filled with love,
Her world filled with hate,
Her world filled with beauty,
Her world filled with fake.

She used to be congratulated for
Her work, care, patience, determination.
Now she's screwed up and
All she wants to do is give up.

11% is the figure of
How many teenage girls self-harm
This girl knows she's
Part of that 11%

She doesn't know why,
She doesn't know how,
What happened to make her
This horrible girl?

She feels like a failure,
Will never succeed.
To her life she pleads
As she slowly bleeds.

She bleeds heartache,
She bleeds pain.
She bleeds the hope of
Everything being the same.

She sits alone at night,
As she cries herself to sleep.
All at once, with one swift step,
She falls to the floor in a heap.

She didn't eat.
She wasn't happy
With herself. All she
Wanted was to be skinny.

Her wish came true,
After she lost 8kg in
Around one month.
She finally thought she was thin!

She used to take everything as it came,
But then it all built up inside of her.
She couldn't take it anymore,
Soon everything became clearer.

She picked up her blade
And cut many times.
She saw only blood and
Felt only pain.

All of her troubles
Melted away
She thought everything
Would be OK.

She soon found everything
Was once again, broken
All she could do was cry,
All she wanted to do was run.

Everything she wanted to be,
Everything she tried to be,
Was never enough,
She still wasn't good enough.

She compared herself to every girl,
And she still does.
They're always prettier, always skinnier,
All with innocent faces.

She covers up her sadness
Tries to make it disappear.
Everything builds up again
Including all her fears.

She cries her shattered heart out,
Cries out in pain,
She needs someone to love her,
Needs to feel whole again.
