What does rain do?

The darkness
that covers the sun
making the moon
and allowing the stars shine bright
allowing cooling air
to rest upon us
trees blowing gently
in the night sky
as though maybe
rain will come
it wash away our sorrow
for those that sorrow comes easily
it will wash away their anger
the rain will wash the trees
and give Earth that clean fresh smell
rain giving it that
"refreshing feeling"
the feeling of hope
the feeling of love
and the feeling of cleanliness
rain giving us so much
and expect nothing in return
rain coming with its own gift
