A lie

by mimzy   Jun 30, 2006

Blind to it all
I just hear what I wanted to hear
He watches me as I fall
Deep down to my destiny

Cold dark eyes
Ignore my silent cries
On this last night
My last struggle, my last fight

The hysterical creature you watch in the corner of the room
The dark-haired girl, praying for it to be over soon
Can you even hear her cry out in despair?
Reminding you of your promise, but you just give me a cold stare

Feels like a knife cutting deep in my skin
Dark depth sucking me further in
He smells my fear
Forces me to drop my final tear

As the last teardrop falls from my eye
You silently confirm
It was a lie..

Very dark and very mature. A heavy but compelling read.
