My Angel Can't Fly

by xPoeticTrashx   Jun 30, 2006

I've always hated goodbye's,
They've always shaken me to the core,
I've never been able to let it go,
I've always wanted more.

You were once my greatest friend,
I loved with my heart and soul,
But as the years trickled by,
These feelings began to take toll.

You were confused and I was troubled,
We were breaking each others fall,
But sooner or later somebody missed,
And we let go of it all.

I worshiped you, I adored you,
But I don't think you could see,
You let me go and let me down,
And pushed away from me.

You were my angel my only hope,
And then you disappeared,
Leaving me insecure, confused,
And my future so unclear.

The best friend I adored was gone,
My angel had lost her wings,
She taught me to stay so strong,
And push away all bitter things.

This angel has molded me,
Helping with these walls I've built,
Blocking out whoever I see,
And holding inside this guilt.

This angel has taught me a lesson today,
That sometimes we need goodbye,
She's also taught me the painful truth,
Angel's don't always fly.
