Rainfall

by LoneWalker   Jul 1, 2006

The rain falls heavy now
In a sleeted descent
Its somber hail
Provides a harmonious rhythm
To play along side
The slow beating of a heavy heart

No warmth in frozen droplets
Like the tears of sorrow cried
They will stain her face
As she walks in silent solitude

Her prayers are quiet
To cleanse a tainted soul
To mend a broken heart
To have life's slow decay
Washed away

Whispered words not to be heard
Lost in the rainfalls dismay
Dispersed into the blackened sky
This nighttime comfort a hallow sanctuary

She lifts her head to sky
And rain drips down her face
Twisted with tears, lines down to her breast
Her hearts wounds filled
With an essence of winter
Still she walks in silent solitude

Though tears are washed away
The scars still remain
Rainfall dampening her heart
Memories,
A hidden sorrow

In her eyes a past shown
Like a mirror,
These thoughts are reflected back to her
A lover now gone

Still the rain falls heavy
A leaden weight tied to her heart
She’ll let the water consume her
Cover her
Hide her

Forever she'll walk in silent solitude
