A sand castle
Stands on the beach
Eroded by wind
One tiny grain
After another
Broken loose
And lost to the wind
Once it was
A castle of dreams
Now it stands
Empty
Abandoned
Nothing to hold it together
And the walls
Begin to collapse
What once was a castle
Now, but a broken image
Of what it was meant to be
Remains only a door
Once opened
It will fall to the ground
Nothing will remain
Just a pile of sand
Where a great castle once stood
