Falsely Accused

Why blame yourself
When you can clame me
is it convenient and useful
or just plain easy

You say it's my fault
That I caused you to be this way
But you see its not my fault at all
What do you want me to say?

Do you want me to confess
And say that I started it all
That it was my anger and cruelty
That led to your downfall

Well Im sorry to disappoint you
Because you won't put your faults on me
I am all for freedom
Justice and equality

Do you want me to feel bad
Because you're not as prosperous as I am
That because of my wealth and way of life
You're forced to live in sham

I was not there a long time ago
To see when and where it began
You assume that I think Im the better man

Do you want me to beg your forgiveness
Of something I didn't do
Why take all your anger out on me
When your future is up to you

You say I am a criminal
Because I've cheated you
But you've cheated yourself far more
Because of what you refuse to do
