The Day I Make You Proud

by littlballa   Jul 5, 2006

Ever since we were younger
you always laughed at me
ever since we were younger
you always mocked me
ever since we were younger
you always pointed out my weaknesses
ever since we were younger
you illuminated my differences

and as time went on
and as we grew older
I never thought
you would just get colder
I hoped that one day
our friendship would not be just some fantasy

the day I make you proud
the day I make you laugh
the day you thank me
the day you say you love me
will be the day I smile
it will the day I forget about the pile
the pile of tears
that have formed through out all these years

I know that you love me
and that deep down you care
but all I want
is for you to be there
be there for me
and not put me down

One day you are going to look at yourself
look at yourself and wonder why
why did you constantly bring a tear
a tear to your baby sister's eye

**if this is unclear, it's about my big brother. don't get me wrong i love him to death but sometimes i feel like he doesn't care about me. one second we could be best friends and then he could just be mad. i love him soo much and i know he loves me but i guess things get complicated. **

This is a great poem- You express your emotions amazingly! You made it easy for the reader to understand what you were going through. I didnt think the poem was unclear. The only thing I didnt know at the end of it was whether the sibling was a sister or brother. Your explanation at the end cleared that up. Great write! 5/5
