News Room Lies

by Raychil   Jul 5, 2006

The broadcast room is crowded today
It's run by Mr. and Mrs. Lies
The anchors are ready to spread the news
With a twinkle in their eye

People feed off their gossip
Like moths to a flame
They love to hear about conspiracy
And murderers with no name

From the war in Iraq
To sports games that end in a tie
Then some on suicide and drug over-dose
Because it's more interesting when people die

They tell you about cop chases
And what the president has to say
About Pakistan did wrong
But our invasion never comes into play

They'll smile about those killers
Who are mentally insane
And then move on to the next topic
Like it's all the same

Yes the news can update us
But it shouldn't be our lives
There is still more going on in the world
Not just their unproven lies.

*I was inspired by a Don Henly song, my poem isn't as good as it though haha
