People cannot be the focus of your life.
You cannot build your life on them,
They are not strong enough.
People make mistakes and rattle the foundations,
They move on, sometimes when you are still building on them.
They have their own path.
Instead of building your life on people,
Fine your own patch of dream,
Strong and sound in itself.
Use that to build your life, thanking each person,
as they stop to lay a brick for you,
Accept that others may be stronger, however
Your life will stand alone, strong,
And then, when it is done, you can invite people into your life,
Knowing that it is strong enough to keep out the rain.
