Love's Last Confession

by ntv650   Jul 5, 2006

Do not let go so gently my Love,
Our love should burn and sparkle as it dies;
Even to the spectators of afar, on the horizon.
And though friendship's worth is high and
More than love will be lost from it all
Fight, fight against the dying fire.

Though wise lovers their end's recognise,
Because their words wield that passion they
Do not let go so gently my Love.
Good ladies who caught hearts and sung in joy
They learnt, too late, to grieve that song away
And wild men, near death, who see without sight
Even they have blind eyes that blaze their love
They too fight, fight against the dying light.

And you, my Love, there lie,
Cuss, praise, me now with true tears.
Do not let go so gently my Love.
Fight, fight against the dying fire.
