My Darling Daughter.

by Fluffy   Jul 5, 2006

It seems as if yesterday,
You held out your hand;
For a walk in the park,
A play in the sand.

I know it was just last night,
I tucked you in bed;
Saying our prayers,
With a kiss on your head.

Sometimes I wonder why you had to go,
But the answer to this I already know.
So much suffering, I just can't go on,
I finally had realised what I knew all along.

But I kept on moving,
One day at a time.
My memories kept going,
On and on in my mind.

The day you were born,
Your first big girl bike;
I know you put these there,
For me to keep in sight.

So my darling daughter,
I want you to know;
I miss you and thank you,
For helping me let you go.

My darling, my daughter...

    This is beautiful..so sad that I have tears in my eyes and yet so wonderfully written that I can't help but be drawn right into the piece from the beginning.

    Imagery was beautifully created yet again, and your flow was spot on throughout the piece.

    I loved the emotions of both love and loss in this, I thought it made for a powerful transistion, and you wrote this piece with so much beauty and elegance.
