Pale fields of death

by Missy   Jul 7, 2006

In the pale fields of death,
I see only darkness,
No light, never light,
The pain I felt is now gone,
To be replaced with nothingness, emptiness,
Was it worth it?
To end a life so dearly loved,
Just to erase all the pain?
I whisper to myself,
And think of the one I love,
\'You were my life, my love,
The only one thats true,
Yet still I ended my life,
All alone and without you\'
You saw the pain,
You saw the tears fall down my face,
As the rope that mercilessly,
Tightened its grip,
To rid me of this pain,
To send me to this place,
Which I am stuck in now,
I cant get free,
With no feelings, no emotions,
With nothing, an emptiness,
The love I felt is also gone,
Leaving but a faint memory,
I wish I could take it back,
The life that I ended so quick,
I wish I could tell you,
One last time,
\'I love you\'

    This is a very sad piece you have here ma'am and I mean that wholeheartedly. Emotionally, in my view it was perfect and true and I am truly sorry for what you've been through.

    I hope I don't offend you with what changes I made below, but I thought it would help in getting your message across better. Aside from punctuation and a few tweaks to the flow, it really didn't need much, so you did very well :) Read them side by side to compare and hopefully you'll see what I mean.

    All the best,
    Maher.

    ---------------------

    In the pale fields of death,
    I see only darkness;
    no light, never any light.
    The pain I felt is now gone,
    only to be replaced with nothingness - emptiness.
    Was it worth it?

    To end a life so dearly loved,
    just to erase all the pain?
    I whisper to myself
    and think of the one I love:
    'You were my life, my love,
    the only one thats true;
    yet still I ended my life,
    all alone and without you'.

    You saw the pain,
    you saw the tears fall down my face
    as the rope that mercilessly
    tightened its grip
    to rid me of it
    sent me to this place
    In which I am stuck in now.
    I can't get free.

    With no feelings, no emotions;
    nothing but this emptiness.
    The love I felt too, has gone;
    leaving nill but a faint memory.

    I wish I could take it back -
    the life that I ended so quickly.
    I wish I could tell you
    for one last time,
    'I love you'.

    Within death, there is no problem. When it's over, result is called.
