Another Day

by Ms Joanna Dark   Jul 7, 2006

The sun shines down on shimmering tears
Pieces of my heart crumble and then disappear
A burning sensation crawls down my wrist
The tearing of flesh not sorely missed
A crimson line creates a fountain of pain
Razorblade kisses dance on scarred veins
A scream for help flies away unheard
While faces pass by and cry out absurd
Visions of happiness are all so unclear
Smiles made of clay all drown in a tear
And the soul grows wings tainted and small
Hoping to fly but burn in a fall
Fire tears at the flesh and burns right through
Scars added to a body never quite new
Channel the pain of a heart thrown away
A soul nearly dead survives another day
