Something Better

by ChelseyDion   Jul 8, 2006

She wrote you again today
I acted as if I didn't know
It's only to be expected
Considering she hasn't let you go

Confusion and doubts gather in my head
As to exactly what you two are
I mean, it's easy to love me
When she's away, and so far

I'm trying to think clearly
As tears stream down my face
But it's hard to focus on any good
When at any second I could be replaced

I really do love you
But I'm sure she does also
And now i see she's prettier than me
My confidence is at an all time low

I don't se any advantage I have
Except for the fact that I am near
So i wonder if you'd still love me
If she were here?

Don't think I don't believe you
I know you have love for me
But is it the same kind you had for her
Or more so out of pity?

I'm aware I'm not the best catch
I don't know why you want to be together
So can I honestly be upset
If you go back to something better?

You two are already established
She gets along with your family/friends so well
Where as I can't promise you the same
It's too soon to tell

I want us to work
Losing you is one of my biggest fears
So I really shouldn't be doing things like
lying in my bed, shedding tears

I'm just so scared that
You'll realize your mistake and go back to her
But how can I expect you to stay
When you've something so much better?

"How Can I expect you to love me if I don't love me?"
