If only you could hear this tonight (prose)

If only you could hear these words tonight,as you lay departed from this world, in a distant dream safe under your lids, were no one can disturb, away from this world, tucking your worries into a good nights sleep. i wish you knew. theres a person sitting awake, thinking of you. picturing you laying peacefully, wishing to pull the covers up to your neck, so you don't wake cold. just wishing to say goodnight to you. just wishing you knew all the emotions they were feeling that they somehow never quite manage to explain. just wishing to know you. but the pen to paper doesn't seem to move, resting frozen, creating ink spills of restrained feelings, and choked words. and the words would never do you justice. i am not a good enough writer, but i am held back to let actions do the talking, so where does this leave me? i hope this will be enough. you stole my words as soon as i saw you. so unprepared to find someone like you. left trying to gather my composure, and focus on this love. left blushing a deeper shade of red, with anxiety clawing my skin, nerves suffocating my throat. left looking at you.
