Unknown

by Jenn   Jul 8, 2006

A faintly bold apparition in the fog
This clever piece of man
Who asks such a price
I wish I could give him the stars

But he can't even see me
With my thick black eyelashes
And soft red lips
I'm no more than the unseen
The unfelt
The unwanted

There's so many more like me
Green little girls waiting for a sign
Something to wake them
From this dream

My tears flow heavily
I wish they were the rain

But should I question my sanity
When love is insane

The unknown shines
Like a dazzling pearl

While reality builds a wall
To separate the impossibilities
Of calling this man my own
