In this ugly world I search for protection
I try to find a place where I feel safe and loved
As I see familiar faces and wonder who they really are
People aren't always as they seem they hide themselves
But there's one person who opened up to me
And that person was you

Some bad some good
Beauty is hidden inside everyone
That's why people say
"True Beauty is on the inside"
If everybody knew this then the world wouldn't be so sad
But you can't always have good times
Because you need the bad times as well
So we can all find love, happiness, and sadness
Every time we turn
But that makes living worth while
In this ugly yet beautiful world
