Within These Walls

by RainbowSlider   Jul 9, 2006

Within these walls life still exists.
It may not look like life as you know.
You may question why a worm persists.
It has no eyes but tunnels down below.
Within these walls that I make today.
I eat earth and burrow like the tick.
I fertilize the soil; There is decay.
But I don't try to make others sick.
Within these walls there is no light.
I have to use my sense of direction.
I am not bound by the wrong or right.
There is no need for a final inspection.
Within these walls I go as I please.
I go around hard rocks and objects.
My life is simple; my life is happy.
There are no rules that I am subject.
Within these walls life still exists.
It is not just survival or a trap.
It is a way of life; It is happiness.
It is my way of beating the rap.
