Us-Dedicated 2 Society

by Love Within A Storm   Jul 9, 2006

Looked upon as a criminal
Looked down upon as a person.
Taught by my peers I have no rights
Taught by the world Iam wrong.
Thought by the lady at the counter
Iam a thief
Thought by my teachers Iam dumb.
Being an alcoholic is thought to be my heritage
Being illiterate is thought to be common in \"us\".
Being put down because of the colour of my skin
And with society being as stuffed up as it is,
Being all these things is just an average black!!

Loved the way the stereotypes had been presented. Not great with flow but powerful nevertheless what with it's structure and words. Some of these stereotypes are of course those commonly held mispreceptions held by people. Still a short yet powerful write.
