The Sun

by adaylate   Jul 9, 2006

The Sun peeked out today,
After ten days of rain,
It looked weak and out of practice,
But I appreciated the effort just the same.

There it was, stumbling through the trees,
Making them shine and smile,
Reflecting its happy glow.

It tried to reach the ground,
But clouds kept it away,
The trees were selfish,
And took it for themselves.

I glared at the clouds,
For being so mean,
And taking away,
That warm hopeful gleam.
