Vegetable

by lyndsey   Jul 10, 2006

My dad is what you would call a vegetable

he lies in bed all day
motionless

all the machines he is hooked up to
break my heart

knowing this could be his last
day, hour, minute, or second

i keep on praying for him
hoping he'll wake up soon

my mom is crying a lot lately

then i think he's not only her husband or my dad
he's 50% of our lives

all our friends and family are paying for him
and it means the world to us

.in any instant he'll tack his last breath and die

i will never forget the man i call DAD
and how much i will never stop loving him

theres tears all around us as we berried him in the ground

i can hear him tell me that he loves me

at the wake all we get is pity and i don't want
all i want is my dad back

Oh this is so sad....if this is real...which I think it is...I am really sorry for everything you've been through...:(:( it must be hard losing a dad. And seeing him on machines must have bee painful. I hope you are coping though:) I loved the poem it was really filled with feeling.
