Da day u broke our heart

by karen   Jul 11, 2006

The heart of Louisiana was broken today
the music, the soul, just washed away.
Just a little fragment left hanging on,
I wonder, if ever again we will hear its song.
The Jazz, the Blues just swaying in the air.
I close my eyes and picture me there,
walking the streets of Bourbon and Canal,
in the city that always treats you like a pal.
The way it was and will someday be again...
I want to go home to the city, my friend...
So many lives ripped and blown apart
will Louisiana ever be able to fix its heart?
One ferocious beast passed through today,
blowing, ripping, killing whatever was in its way.
New Orleans took a huge blow,
how many loses? I guess we'll never know.
One day our heart will beat strong again,
and never ever again be broken by the wind!
