I wish i could see your face
in my heart you will never be replaced
to feel your hand in mine
would make me want to stop time
and relive that moment over and over again
my son, you would have been my closest friend
i would have loved to walk you to the park
and tell you there are no monsters in the dark
to hear your laugh would have given me so much pleasure
i would have helped you look for buried treasures
just to hold you once more in my arms
i would have sheltered you from any harm
i would let nothing get in your way
you would have been at your best each and every day
i can see you now smiling at me
holding me close, very tightly
telling me it's ok
