the two girls were ging to fly their first time
Eagerly they met the pilot and boarded the plane
This was their dream of a lifetime
It was a sunny and cloudless day with no rain
their dreams and hopes flahed through their soul
Both girls full of courage held their breath as they soared
They watched as time stood still and in the sky they felt whole
How could they know so soon they would meet the Lord?
They flied towards Paine Field
Finally it was time to change seats and return
In joy and elation they both squealed
To be soaring through the sky did they both yearn
But the plane did lose power
and for the girls and the pilot time did stand still
And they crashed like a flaming flower
the plane went down with a shrill cry
and it was in pain that I heard that my two friends did die
They had longed to be pilots
And for all their unfullfilled dreams I did cry
They didnt even rest in caskets
But their bodies were gone
And I know there souls still soar
And I cry wishing they could still see the dawn
And I sometimes still wish theyd walk through the door
But they met the Lord that fateful day
They had no temporary wings to carry them home
I wonder what did they say?
Now their souls are free to roam
Why do I still cry for souls set free?
I miss my friends
But that girl in the plane should have been me
But I know it isnt the end.
