Grandpa Part 2

Walking up
I hold my breath
Closing my eyes
Till I count to twenty-nine

Hearing the other pray
Hearing them cry
As they say good-bye
Holding out their love
In your face

So here I am
Looking down at you
So cold and distant
I wonder if you’re here

Tears invade
My sight
As I lean down
And kiss you good-night

Your skin so soft
But yet so cold
I hold your hand
Trying to keep you warm
But yet you remain so cold

Flowers all around
From your love ones
A candle hidden in the back
To show that your soul still remains
Flickering as if your with us

I whisper in your ear
For only you to hear
That I love you

Without another tear
I walk away
Holing my breath
As I push the doors
And out into the world
In which you left me alone
