Lightning

The night was dark,
The lightning was flashing,
I was sitting, enduring the darkness
Outside was silent,
Everything was calm,
I could hear the rain,
Falling on the window

Every time the lightning flashed,
It seemed like my life,
My sisters were scared and I was lost,
Lost in a world of sadness and pain,
Funny thing what lightning can remind you of..

It just reminded me
Of all the loses and all the pain
And all the times, my dad never came,
But till this day,
I've never told anyone his name..
