First there was just the kitten.
Just a little fur ball of joy.
Very inquisitive but flea bitten.
The kitten sure liked the toys.
The kitten open up her eyes.
She became curious of others.
Sometimes she noticed lies.
She seen that she had brothers.
She noticed she was as mother.
Of father she became aware.
Her sisters were discovered.
She was mindful of stares.
As she matured she prowled.
She came to like the night.
She heard the night owl.
She jumped out from light.
Her eyes adjusted to the dim.
Grayness came now and shadow.
She climbed the tree for him.
But he had flew to the meadow.
Through the darkness she went.
Hearing new sounds and sights.
She saw so many new events.
She became one with the night.
She was no longer a kitten.
She was feline; She was Cat.
No longer interested in mittens.
She had changed in an eye's bat.
Her purring became louder.
She walked with a grace.
Her head was now prouder.
She came to know her place.
Her jump was like lightening.
Her aim was like magic.
The mice were all frightened.
The mice's end were tragic.
