A Drunken Love

by Staci   Jul 13, 2006

She sits alone with her knife in hand
tonight will be her final stand
he's beat on her too many nights
and he's the center of her many frights
she holds the knife as he comes through the door
he quickly shoves her to the floor
she smells his breath, he's drunk again
but the fight tonight she won't let him win
he looks at with hate filled eyes
and she thinks of all his stupid lies
for the makeup and perfume on his shirt
he always makes her feel like dirt
she knows he's mad, and her grip gets tighter on the knife
as she thinks of all the pain and strife
he goes to take another hit
but she takes the knife and makes a slit
a slit across his darkened heart
he knows from this world he soon will part
he looks at her with such great hate
he thinks it's her that cause his fate
he sits there dying, gasping for air
she looks at him with such great care
she knows it's over but loves him still
to watch his death she has no will
but as he takes his final breath
she says "i love you, I'm sorry i caused your death"

this happens to so many people here, and so many of my friends, yet no one ever pays attention.
