Moonlight

by manders   Jul 13, 2006

Glistenin, soaking up the
Moonlight
I hold my hands out
To let the moon peek through them
Like a mouse
Peeping through
Its tiny hole
In the wall.
I listen closely.
All around me is silence.
So quiet, yet it
Says every word I can
Think of, so loud and clear
I look up,
And I see
The silvery rays of sunshine;
Moonshine,
Shining through the clouds,
Looking down on me.
On everyone who can see it.
Feel it.
Hear it.
I dive into the icy water, and feel
The cool on my skin.
I dive into the moon, rippling its
image. I blend with the moon.
The moon blends with me.
Again, I hold my hands out.
This time with the water,
The moon,
Shining on its surface.
I go to pour the water back, but I
Stop.
Because its a little piece of
The moon for me.
A little piece of everything. For the earth.
I pour the water back. The now
Full moon is glistening, shining.
And I?
I am just soaking up the moonlight.
