A Story That Borderlines Blood, Love, And Rage

*This poem was written as a song and is played/sung/whatever to the beat of the Trophy Scars song Alligator. Alligators. So if it seems like it doesn't flow right it's because of that. I dedicate this poem to Trophy Scars... you guys own so freaking much. Comment if you like it... or if you like Trophy Scars.

Hello, it's nice to meet someone like you
She whispered as he walked across the crowded room
They didn't know it then, but they'd soon find out
As he bought her a drink even though there was a drought

Words came out quickly as she sat there with him
Their glasses with alcohol filled up to the brim
The laughter that echoed through that dead-end bar
He asked her out later, and they drove home in his car

It was meant to be one night but it soon became more
A three-year stand wasn't exactly what they had bargained for
Love couldn't describe it, what either of them had
It was more of a drunken legacy that had long since turned bad

They both had problems, the problems, too many to name
Secrets held forever and two heads bent in shame
it was more then just baggage if that cliche's really real
It was more a disturbance that neither one refused to feel

Periods in bathrooms that were never explained
Feelings of anger that could never be tamed
Why did they waste all that time, you might ask
Because they kept each other alive and it was no easy task

Shoving tourniquets in wrists and cutting thick ropes
He loved and she became the sum of all his hopes
He made her cancel the night that she had planned
The night that she wanted to die by her own hand

Death notes being rewritten many times over for her
He couldn't find the words to describe what they were
They were more then a couple dating on the street
They were more of a partnership that suffered a defeat

On the tile floor, she tried to calm her nerves
She let the blood flow over her beautiful curves
But the thought of him stopped her before the last light
She couldn't have him die because she had lost the fight

He took the next shift when she was asleep
Standing on the ledge, he had no time to weep
There was no time to cry for her or for him
He just stared at the lawn, he thought needed a trim

He stepped off eventually back into the room
He walked through the apartment, turning gray from the gloom
Back into the sheets, back next to a ghost
Their love was enough to give their lifestyle a toast

They were happy together but alone they were not
Their story became endless without any plot
They stared at each other during those long days in bed
Holding hands was a sign that at least the other wasn't dead

He decided to buy her that expensive ring that he saw
Maybe then they would be happy and break this new law
The law of self-destruction that was consuming them fast
He wanted to bury the razors and the blood in the past

But by the time he came home there was a note on the door
Trying to explain why it was she wanted something more
He shoved it open in a rush to try and save
He knew he couldn't put her coffin in a grave

I'm not dead yet she said with a sigh
He spun around quickly as she waited for a reply
I'm coming home with you was all he could say
Without you here I couldn't live another day

I want to be with you, a scream as she began to cry
I know what you want, he murmured back, his lips dry
We can go together and be content with our choice
She tried to say something back but she quickly lost her voice

I don't want you to pay for the way that I feel
Darling, it's the only thing that I know for sure is real
What about how much I love you she asked between tears
He replied all I want to do, sweetheart, is fix all those fears

They both shared one piece of paper and scribbled in pen
Before they realized they had no one to say goodbye to just then
I love you was all she had the strength to say
Don't worry tomorrow's going to be a new day

They pulled the trigger together and fell onto the bed
The police couldn't figure out why they had done what they said
They loved each other so why couldn't they stay
The love wasn't enough, they couldn't find another way

But it doesn't matter, they're together all the same
No one understands it, what went and what came
A tragic Romeo and Juliet for the new age
A story that borderlines blood, love, and rage
