The Phone Call

by Marie Good   Jul 14, 2006

Sitting here talking to you,
Wishing i could make it all better,
Silence on the other end,
As sharp as a dagger in my broken heart.

I reach for the glass of water i had prepared,
Taking a sip and wishing this was all a dream,
Your voice brings comfort to me,
But now the only thing i think of is living a life without you by my side.

The inside of me is burning,
Slowly and steadily my soul is being scared for eternity,
My life is so pointless without you,
Fading inside the darkness of my mind.

Feeling so hopeless and alone,
The world seems so dark without you,
When we were together i was flying without wings,
But thinking of you now seems to make my heart beat out of place.

I hear the words i love you,
And realize that they are slipping out of my own mouth,
The phone line goes dead,
We have come to the end of our road together.
