What Do You See?

What do you see when you look into my eyes?
Do you only see what's on the outside?
That mysterious blue-green stare
that no one understands.
The soft, blonde hair flowing
Down over my shoulders.
Those small, rosy lips holding hostage
A lifetime of secrets.

Is that all you see when you look at me?
Nothing more than a physical being?
Or do you look much deeper than that?
Do you see that, although
I smile all the time,
I'm hiding my true feelings from the world?
That even though on the outside,
I'm laughing
On the inside
I'm slowly falling apart.

When our eyes meet, do you feel
The same as I do?
The same flutter in the stomach,
The same understanding
The same wanting
The same needing
The same being?

To me, you're the only one that understands.
The only one who knows
How I truly feel.
The first person to question me
When I say everything is alright.
And the one person who's always there for me,
no matter what.

When you look into my eyes,
Do you see how much I care?
Can you see the love I have for you?
A love that, although I've tried so hard to let out
Is left in my heart, another feeling still unspoken?
