Tell Me a Story

by Chels   Jul 16, 2006

I want to hear a story
Render me speechless with your words
Confide in me so I can hear
The secrets of the world

I want to hear the stories
Of yesteryears that fled
With yellow faded photographs
And still frames in your head

Paint me a picture
Of times gone by too fast
Tell all the things you wanted to say
About event given to the past

Was it different?
In the black and white reels of time?
Was the age truly innocent?
Or was it a cliche to cover the strife?

Tell me a story
Something I wouldn't hear now
Elaborate on the good
And make me ask the question how

I promise to listen
And remember the small details
As long as you keep your end
And fill my mind with tall tales

I really want a story
That will take me away
So my mind won't wander
And cross the problems of today
