Spinning Nowhere

by Amanda Sloan   Jul 17, 2006

Pulled one way and again to another, Holding on to what i know to be the truth.
Pushed up and again down, Letting go of what i thought was a life.
To the left a mysterious green, To the right an estranged gray.
Promises in the whisper of a lie, Nothing will ever be mine
As far as it all goes the life i knew will fade. I'll begin with new decisions and old memories. The past grimly chasing me, The future breathing cold down my neck.
And if i could sound would cease, and the never ending beams of confusion would end in beautiful colors in the form of a mist
If i could I'd see beyond the grays and greens and make new amends for you and me. I'd push to the left, to the right making myself stronger than those forcing me up, I'd pull down, stretch sideways and make it all possible. And still there wouldn't be the slightest possibility that someone out there would see me peel all away till it was bare. They'd laugh a smug laugh finish their crude remarks and be on their way, sending me mine.
And even with the pain I'd know we'd be alright
