Arboretum

by Joey Matthews   Jul 17, 2006

Walking through the
arboretum
taking in the sight
I stop and look
back at the way I came in
outside
In the distance
cars and trams rush by
as students set off
from a busy days
learning
looking back towards
the path that
follows on
soft raindrops begin
to fall
It feels more peaceful here

I continue to walk
towards
an open area
where the autumn leaves
have already
fallen
soft bursts of sunshine
struggle to break
through the dusty
silver-grey
clouds
I'm now alone
and all i can see
Is tall trees
In the far horizon
by now all my worries
have started to rest

A beautiful flow to this one, Joey and worded wonderfully. An excellent piece I thoroughly enjoyed. Well done,
