Grave

by Kitty Katia   Jul 17, 2006

We drove along, our eyes were full,
and we drove him to that place.
Of concrete blocks atop a hill
our hearts would surely break.

We trudged along on legs so heavy;
we walked then to that place.
Through mud and slush, then grass so lush,
our hearts would surely break.

We stood there then, our heads bowed low,
we stood there at that place.
The hole so deep, was freshly dug,
our hearts would surely break.

We listened then, as people spoke,
of bright and happy days.
Their voice choking with emotion,
our hearts would surely break.

We watched it then as it was lowered,
deep down into that place.
We threw white roses upon the lid,
our hearts would surely break.

That day, that place I\\\'ll never forget,
our hearts are broken now.
We turned around and left him there,
My brother in his grave
