Gone

by Kitty Katia   Jul 17, 2006

My head is full of thoughts,
Thoughts of you
And I am distracted so easily
I canâ??t do a thing.
My heart is torn out of my chest
And an empty space is all is left.
Am I wrong, do you think?
That something else will happen?

My entire life has changed.
Because youâ??re gone.
And Iâ??m so unfamiliar with the space around me
The space which I have once shared with you.
The space where young trees grow, where flowers bloomed cheerfully, and where the birds once sang the sweet songs.
The space where we first met and where our love first thrived.
And â??why?â?? you ask. â??Why do you feel so strange in the space you lived for years?â??
Because all has changed since you have gone.

The trees are bare; birds sing no sound,
The leaves lie dead on the ground.
The cold has come, with wind and rain,
The long hard winter is here again.
This long hard winter which we once endured,
Is the long hard winter in my heart.

And if youâ??re worrying that Iâ??ll find another human to take your place or if Iâ??ll ever forget you,
The answer will always be never.
If youâ??re asking what I value,
The answer is, of course, itâ??s you.
If youâ??re asking if I still love you,
The answer is I do.

I loved you once,
I loved you still,
I always have and always will.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
You will always be chained to my heart,
So you can stop worrying, too.
