They Told me

by Megan   Jul 17, 2006

[The first of a trilogy]

They told me they loved me
They told me they would never
Do anything to hurt me
How could they hurt me so?

The first was the
Biggest shock of all
She did it right in front of me
As the blood began
To pour like a hose
From her limp body
I grabbed her,
Pulling her close and
I cradled her crying,
Till she was pried
From my arms

They told me they loved me
They told me they would never
Do anything to hurt me
How could they hurt me so?

The next day was
The seconds turn
I begged her not to
But she just couldn't
Handle the pain anymore
It was done and over
In a matter of seconds
I couldn't do anything
But watch in horror
As the blood spilled
From her small
Beautiful head

They told me they loved me
They told me they would never
Do anything to hurt me
How could they hurt me so?

Her suicide set off a chain reaction
Right there, right by me, the
Others took a knife to their throats
Three more bodies fell to the ground
All landing in a circle around me
Me sitting in their blood
Just staring at the closest living
Person half expecting them to
Slowly fade away as I wake
But they never faded away
And I would never wake from
This horrible nightmare

They told me they loved me
And I believed their lies
