In morning dew, this dove does fly,
taking drops of the rain from the sky,
saving the rain from growing crabgrass,
and gently places it on the trees and flowers.
In stormy weather, this dove does fly,
she takes all on with determined wings,
lightning cannot stop her,
and thunder will not intimidate her.
In sunshine, this dove does fly,
spreading her wings with glorious trimumph,
sharing her joy, bringing rest and peace to all.
Up in heaven, this dove does fly,
watching and guarding us all, protecting us from cruelty,
making us safe and keeping silent vigil.
We know shes here, her spirit remains,
the days we spend will be with her always,
and the thunder and lightning,
no they will not intimidate us,
because she gives us strength.
Dedicated to my Grandmother- Mema, who in a private joke with my aunt kitty (friend of the family) was "a dove".
