Friends and lovers...

by Welshy   Jul 17, 2006

Why do i sit here and wonder why,
as the tears fall from my eye.
The love we had was real and strong,
But now that love is lost and gone.
The end of a beauty was so cruel,
But to believe in it i was a fool.
For that love was tainted from start to end,
by the feelings of two friends.
The friendship was strong and from the heart,
the two could never be apart.
Feelings so strong they lead to confusion,
their feelings of love were just an illusion.
It progressed on and they became lovers,
hiding REAL feelings under the covers.
At first all was fine and they were filled with joy,
as a child is with their favorite toy.
But along came the jealousy and tension and pain,
and on their relationship it put the strain.
Their friendship was broken when they joined as one,
and the illusion of love was finally undone.
