Her Loveless Ending

Tightly curling herself up into a ball on her bed,
as a knot in her stomach befriends her despair,
a last pitiful cry escapes her unkissed lips,
for his love thats is no longer there.

Unmoored, unanchored, unsupported or cared for,
cast adrift in a crowded lonely world.
34 sleeping pills unleashed through her bloodstream.
Flashbacks, promises, colours in endless swirls.

No more tissues and dressing gown weekends,
no more waking saying `he might come back today`
no more dear diary's, love songs or chocolates
no more living, wishing he had never gone away.

She had carefully put her best lipstick on,
put on the dress she wore on their first date,
had sobbed at the mirror while combing her hair,
before giving a handful of pills her fate.

She had played nirvana`s `something in the way`
and flicked the switch to auto repeat,
she had lit a candle and took the phone off the hook
laid down clutching his wilted rose, longing for the sleep.

He had stolen her happy ever afters,
he had poisoned her clear blue Sky's,
he had slain and dismantled her innocence,
and deprived her of her youthful smile.

She cant even remember who she is now,
all she knows is that death is her friend.
Bursting endless bubbles, stepping off a cloud...
