What is this poem about?

This poem tells two stories, one the metaphor for the other. The metaphor is the story of two troops, may be scouts, as they trek to meet at a cold place that they cannot get out of. The underlying story however, is of a person who is comitting suicide by cutting their wrist, and the two troops symbolise the tears and the blood/knife.
