Vivid Dreams

The heat of my room
doesn't bother you or me,
and neither does the man
on the set, talking loudly.

Who gives a damn
about the weather when
I'm with you?
A demigod among men.

Everything just fades--
goes completely away--
while we are on the bed,
under the covers we lay.

We are wrapped around
one another, my hands
on your neck, pulling you to me,
trying to meet my body's demands.

We're both sighing,
both dripping wet.
Together we kiss,
regardless of sweat.

The candles flicker,
lighting your bemused face.
We both know how
to match each other's pace.

I massage his back,
tossle and muss his hair,
and this time I don't pretend
I'm trying not to stare.

He squeezes my waist,
kisses my arms, neck, and chest,
plays with my hair,
my body, my breasts.

We both know how we like it,
we give and take equally;
I want this to go on forever but--
I wake up, look around; it's only me . . .
