Japan

Japan

Its too late now,
the tears have been shed
can't go back now,
as i watch another friend
Disappear.
and i wipe a tear
from her eyes
and so i cry
one more goodbye.

crossed the world, a million miles away
and then i heard you sadly say
"i miss you already".

Ya i think I'll go to Japan
I'm tired of this California sand
I'll get out of this melancholy place
and go where no one knows my face.
I'm going to leave this all behind
And start a new life, better this time
Ya I'll go to Japan to find an old friend
So i can make her grief and loneliness end.

I want to be where the rain softly falls
I wouldn't miss this sunny weather at all
I want to live where the fruit is sweet
I've had enough of this California heat
I'm so sorry you left and don't know anyone
I know you must miss the sea and the sun.

Ya i think I'll go to Japan
I'm tired of this California sand
I'll get out of this melancholy place
and go where no one knows my face.
I'm going to leave this all behind
And start a new life, better this time
Ya I'll go to Japan to find an old friend
So i can make her grief and loneliness end.

And as i begin to miss her more and more
i keep a photo of this friend I'm looking for
And look at it as i fly on the plane
until i can see the real her again.
"i don't smile much anymore" he said
as i looked into his eyes, burning and red
from crying for her...

Ya i think I'll go to Japan
I'm tired of this weather...
and i think I'll get a lover
to take with me on the plane
where no one knows our names
And this world we'll cross
and end this feeling of loss.

Ya i think I'll go to Japan
I'm tired of this California sand
I'll get out of this melancholy place
and go where no one knows my face.
I'm going to leave this all behind
And start a new life, better this time
Ya I'll go to Japan to find an old friend
So i can make her grief and loneliness end.

This is outstanding, almost like a song lyric--you get better with every poem, I swear. This speaks to me of wanting to get away, to start a new life, a place where we can be who we always have wanted to be.It speaks of loss and sadness, friendship and love.It says so much. And you have written this one beautlfully, Layla, it is like a smooth easy song I have already felt in my soul.I really feel this one.Always remember.Always follow your dreams.Never stop believing anything is possible.
    Take care,
